Ruru Madrid recently confirmed that he and former love team partner Gabbi Garcia dated in the past.
Admitting that he courted several fellow Kapuso stars, Ruru said that he was only officially together with Gabbi before his current girlfriend Bianca Umali.
“Nung naging kami, sobrang bata pa po namin. Gabbi’s 15. Ako po, 16,” Ruru shared during his guesting at an episode of Fast Talk With Boy Abunda.
The actor said that being paired with Gabbi on screen played a big part in how they developed feelings for each other in real life.
“Kailangan lagi kaming magkita na sweet sa isa’t isa so siguro, dun, dun namin na-discover na in love kami,” said Ruru.
“Kumbaga, nadala kami sa moment. Siguro, somehow, ako rin, personally, hindi pa rin po ganun kalawak ‘yung kaalaman ko when it comes to love,” he added.
Ruru and Gabbi, known to fans as the GabRu tandem, were onscreen partners for four years and starred together in “Encantadia,” “My Destiny,” “Let The Love Begin,” and “Sherlock Jr.”
On the other hand, Ruru clarified that Bianca was not the reason behind his breakup with Gabbi, who’s now in a six-year relationship with Khallil Ramos.
He also denied causing Bianca’s split with her ex-boyfriend Miguel Tanfelix.
