Celebrities, TV personalities and netizens offered words of support as Gardo Versoza shared a prayer for healing on social media after suffering a heart attack.
Ivy Vicencio, Gardo’s wife, related in an interview with Pep, that the actor suffered a heart attack last Wednesday, March 28.
As of Thursday, Gardo was recuperating at an intensive care unit at Cardinal Santos Memorial Medical Center in San Juan City.
“May nakita pong dalawang ugat na barado at kailangan siyang sumailalim sa angioplasty [as soon as possible,” Ivy said of her husband’s condition.
“Pero dahil critical na po ang lagay niya, hindi po kayang isabay ‘yung isang ugat. After two to three months po ang next schedule ng angioplasty sa kanya,” she added.
According to health website Mayoclinic, angioplasty is a procedure used to open clogged heart arteries and reduce the amount of damage to the heart.
Ivy also shared that excessive exercise might have led to Gardo’s heart attack.
“Extreme po kasi yung biking niya last time from Pasig to Tarlac.
“Grabe rin siya mag-workout sa gym.
“Dun niya nakuha ang heart attack dahil okay naman ang resulta ng test sa kanyang cholesterol, uric, at blood sugar levels,” Ivy was quoted as saying.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, Gardo posted a photo of him in a hospital gown with Ivy, writing as caption, “Thank you for everything shugs, thank you Lord (praying emoji) Thank you doctors.
