Fans of Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano were sent abuzz after the actor shared a video of him supposedly addressing the latter as his “wife”.
Recently, Enrique took to Instagram to share photos and clips from Day 2 of the NBA All-Star Weekend in the United States where he is one of the celebrity guests.
One clip showed him giving a speech, saying, “To my coaching staff, my teammates, my family, my wife. Thank you for the love and support. We champs, baby!”
LizQuen fans were eager to speculate Enrique did refer to Liza, her girlfriend of eight years, as his “wife”. Liza even liked the said post.
“Hindi ako binge kahit 10x ulitin tama ang narinig ko. Kilig ako dun,” said an Instagram user.
“WIFE ? TAMA BA NARINIG KO ? HUYYY,” commented another.
“Ano yon Quen ‘My WIFE’ Oh No… Quen, you make OUR (all LIZQUEN Fandoms) HEARTS Super Happy,” another wrote.
Some fans, however, pointed out that Enrique was just pretending to give a speech if and when he wins the NBA trophy.
The video was originally posted by NBA Philippines on Twitter with the caption: “Imagine winning an NBA trophy! Enrique Gil plays around with the idea at the #NBAAllStar idea weekend.”
Days prior, ABS-CBN News made a disinformation alert about a Twitter account posing as the media company that tweeted about Liza and Enrique getting married.
“Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil did not make any announcement pertaining to their relationship on Valentine’s Day,” said ABS-CBN, adding that the couple’s last social media interaction was the actor’s birthday message for the actress in January.
