Dennis Padilla reached out to his estranged kids with ex-wife Marjorie Barretto as he wished them well during the holiday season.
The celebrity dad took to Instagram to pen each of his kids — Julia, Claudia, and Leon Barretto — Christmas wishes.
Dennis shared throwback snaps of him with his children alongside his short Christmas message.
The comedian-actor also greeted his stepdaughter Dani Barretto, Marjorie’s firstborn with former partner Kier Legaspi, telling how he hopes to meet her daughter Millie soon.
Dennis’ relationship with his kids has been strained for some time now, with Julia admitting in an interview that she’s not on speaking terms with her dad again after reconciling almost two years.
“Hindi ko ipagkakait ang forgiveness but I’m just not ready. I think, there’s just been so much pain over the years since I was young, so parang I got tired of the same thing,” said Julia in an interview on broadcaster karen Davila’s vlog.
Leon, meanwhile, previously called out Dennis in an open letter after the latter aired his frustration when he did not receive a Father’s Day greeting from his children last June.
“Is public sympathy really more important to you than your own children,” Leon asked his dad in the letter.
“For years I watched my sisters get torn into pieces because of your false narratives and not
once did they ever explain their side nor speak negatively about you in public. It’s exhausting, papa. As the only man in the family, this is me stepping up to protect my sisters,” he wrote.
