Buboy Villar recalled a random sweet gesture from a Korean when they were filming the reality show Running Man Philippines in South Korea.
The Kapuso comedian shared on Instagram a selfie snap of him with a Korean man while holding a drink in his hand.
In the caption, Buboy revealed that the Korean treated him to a free bottled drink at a convenience store after he was apparently charmed by the former child star’s smile while they were shooting for the Pinoy adaptation of the hit South Korean variety show of the same name.
“Hindi ko makalimutan na nilibre ako ng isang koreano ng inumin sa mokpo! Habang nasa gitna kami ng shoot ng RMPH Dahil sa ngiti ko HAHAHA.. akalain mo yun!,” shared Buboy, noting how a simple smile can break language barriers.
“Basta’t mag smile ka lang kahit hindi kayo magkaintindihan.. kasi hindi mo naman alam ang babalik sayo. Don’t Expect Just Smile,” he added.
In a video released by GMA, the Korean man, through an interpreter, let Buboy get a drink of his choice at the convenient store.
Buboy refused at first, but the Korean insisted and asked for an autograph in exchange.
In the comments section, Miss World 2013 Megan Young, who appeared as a guest in the show, remembered how the Korean looked so fond of Buboy.
“Naalala ko to boyyyy!!! Tuwang tuwa siya sayo!!! Sobrang cute,” said Megan.
Running Man Philippines is airing its last two episodes this Saturday and Sunday.
