Award-winning actress Jaclyn Jose took back her earlier statement that she was retiring from showbiz.

Jaclyn recently took her fans by surprise when she announced on Thursday, September 1, that she was ending her acting career after decades in the entertainment industry.

“I am retiring…. Marami po salamat,” Jaclyn captioned her Instagram post along with a video of her gracing the red carpet at the GMA Thanksgiving Gala Night.

“Masakit but… I know I have to go…,” she added in the comments section.

The veteran actress, however, took down the Instagram post, hours later.

In a report by Pep, Jaclyn explained that she mistakenly thought that her contract with GMA Network had already ended.

“I wanted to but I still have a 2 years contract with GMA. I have to finish my contract. Akala ko, expired na [but] my RM [road manager] told me na hindi pa,” Jaclyn was quoted as saying.

Jaclyn’s handler Liza Costales also confirmed to GMA News that the actress still has an existing contract with the Kapuso network.

Jaclyn, the first Filipina to win Best Actress award at the Canne Film Festival in 2016, recently starred in the Kapuso series Bola-Bola alongside Kylie Padilla and Rayver Cruz.
