Rufa Mae Quinto has this revelation about being a school achiever after being a subject in a viral meme.

The comedienne-actress recently took to Instagram to share an edited photo of her wearing a graduation toga of Ateneo de Manila University.

The said photo posted by Twitter user @alterinfluencer made rounds online January last year, and was reuploaded by a netizen with Rufa’s commentary about capitalism in the 2009 film Status: Single as caption.

“Back to school na naman guysh. Yes! Cum laude daw, katuwa naman. Go go gold medalist your honor like honor student,” Rufa hilariously captioned her Instagram post with her popular catchphrase.

Jokes aside, Rufa revealed that she indeed excelled in school when she was in high school.

“To be honest, itong toga lang po ang joke ?.Actually I’m an honor student in high school. Hinde po joke yun. Totoong first honor po ako sa St. Vincent school. Thanks school for giving me the medal. Go go gold! Todo na to!,” said Rufa.

Rufa returned to the Philippines last March after two years, after staying in the United States with her daughter and husband, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

She marked her return to showbiz after signing a contract with Sparkle GMA Artist Center in April.
