The man in the photo with Jason Hernandez that self-proclaimed “Pambansang Marites” Xian Gaza posted online has spoken to debunk malicious speculations.
Jason on Tuesday night, announced his and wife Moira Dela Torre’s separation after three years of marriage, confessing hat he had been unfaithful to the Malaya singer.
On Wednesday, Xian shared a black and white photo of Jason with a guy sitting next to him, causing intrigue and malicious speculations not only about the reason behind the couple’s split, but also against the persons in the picture.
Mac Merla, the talent handler of both Moira and Jason, then took to his socials to shut down the speculations, saying he was the one in the photo with Jason, which Moira herself took.
As handler, it is his job to accompany his artists in events.
The photo was just lifted by Xian from the Instagram of Jason who indicated it was taken from a trip to Dubai last December 2021.
“Just for the sake of clarity, for those who do not know us, I am Mac Merla of Cornerstone Entertainment Inc. I am the handler of Jason and Moira,” Merla addressed the photo in question.
He explained, “This was taken during our flight to Dubai for Moira’s event which was taken by Moira herself.”
Merlas also urged netizens to avoid making up and falling for speculations that only make matters worse.
“This is a very difficult time and we continue to pray for both of them.
“Pakiusap ko lang sana sa inyo bilang malapit nilang kaibigan na sana umiwas na tayo sa mga speculations na hindi nakakatulong sa napakahirap na sitwasyon na pinagdaraanan ni Moi and Jason,” he added.
Merla also expressed in a tweet how he felt about Moira and Jason going their separate ways.
‘It’s like my own breakup. All over again,” wrote Merla along with broken heart emoji.
