Lovi Poe paid tribute to the “Queen of Philippine movies” Susan Roces, calling her a gem of the entertainment industry.
On Instagram, Lovi condoled with her half-sister Senator Grace Poe, following the death of the late veteran actress on Friday night.
“I write this post with a heavy heart. We’ve truly lost a gem and one of the beloved pillars in the industry. My love and prayers to Ate Grace and the whole family ♥️,” wrote Lovi alongside a throwback photo of Susan in her younger years.
Brian Poe Llamanzares, son of Senator Poe, acknowledged Lovi’s words of condolences, replying in the comments section: “Thank you ?? I’m sure Mama Susan would’ve appreciated your kind words”.
Lovi is the daughter of Susan’s late husband Fernando Poe Jr. with former actress Rowena Moran.
Senator Poe, meanwhile, is the adopted daughter of Susan and Fernando. Susan got widowed in 2004.
Senator Grace Poe, announced the passing of her mom Susan, or Jesusa Sonora Poe in real life in a statement released on social media on Friday.
“She passed away peacefully on a Friday evening, May 20, 2022, surrounded by love and warmth, with her daughter Grace, her nephews Joseph and Jeffrey and many of her family and close friends,” read Poe’s statement.
“She lived life fully and gracefully. Remember her in her beauty, warmth and kindness,” she added.
Meanwhile, condolences and tributes poured on social media for the late actress.
