Francine Diaz’s older sister has come to the defense of the young actress after Andrea Brillantes aired her side on the issues against her.
On Twitter, Francine’s sister Chantal expressed dismay over Francine getting dragged into Andrea’s controversies and being a target of criticisms online.
“This has been stressing me out as an Ate of Chin and I can or we can no longer stay silent kasi we tried hard to stay silent for peace kaso ang hirap ma-maintain with such environment. Kasi either we speak up or not lagi dawit ang name ng kapatid ko,” said Chantal.
To recall, Andrea caused a buzz in January this year after eagle-eyed netizens noticed that she was no longer following Francine on Instagram and sharing cryptic posts including a TikTok video after a photo of her love team partner Seth Fedelin with Francine and her family made rounds online.
Andrea, who recently revealed that she was in a relationship with Seth for more than two years, admitted in a tell-all via Instagram live on Monday that she was hurt over the said photo.
The 19-year-old said that the TikTok video she posted in reaction to the photo was an “honest mistake” and “only made everything worse”.
“Aaminin ko, my mind was too clouded with sorrow that I forgot to think about what will happen next, or this could affect me or people around me,” said Andrea.
She continued, “I had no contact with them when I saw the picture, so I made a TikTok which made everything worse. I know I should have asked first, I should have consulted my managers before posting it, or sana nanahimik na lang talaga ako.
“Kaya kahit masakit na sinasabi ng mga tao na wala akong karapatan kasi never naman naging kami, masakit. Masakit kasi naging kami.”
While fans asked for an apology from Andrea for Francine, Chantal in her tweet, said that the former apologized to her sister in private months ago.
“Again, sometimes nadadala tayo ng emosyon and we do things rashly and for that naintindihan ko sya,” said Chantal.
Chantal went on to address and clarify the rumor about Andrea confronting Francine in a dressing room which Andrea had earlier denied.
“The panunugod is not true, that’s not exactly what happened. What happened was a misunderstanding, B felt that Chin was disrespecting their (loveteam) when Chin posted an (Instagram story) picture with the glam team and Seth.
“She called my sister and was very upset about it. As an Ate there was nothing wrong with that picture and I hated lang how she reacted about it, they were friends after all,” said Chantal.
Chantal said Seth came over to their house to personally apologize for what happened. “Siyempre may kasamang picturan and all. That’s when the other issue started ulit,” she said.
As an older sister, Chantal said it is disheartening to see Francine getting called names for something her sister didn’t do.
“Francine has been called a lot of names when wala namang masama sa picture na yon very wholesome with the family pa nga.
“Masakit sakin na makabasa ng masamang salita against sa kapatid ko na wala namang ginawang masama. At mas lalong hindi sya malandi at hindi siya ahas gaya ng sabi ng iba, wala siyang inagaw.”
Chantal added that Francine chose to keep mum amid the allegations “for the sake na rin ng peace and friendship na meron sila noon.”
“For me, ang unfair lang para sa kapatid ko to be bullied and called names and still think of the other person when she’s been wronged.
“I was hoping lang din for Blythe sana and Seth to clear it for Chin when they went LIVE but they saved themselves.
“Lastly, I’m saying this because both sides have cleared up their names and half truths lang ang nasabi. We are all moving forward with the past issue and I hope kayo rin.”
Francine, Andrea, and Seth along with Kyle Echarri, used to belong to the Gold Squad which was formed after co-starring in the hit 2018 Kapamilya series Kadenang Ginto.
