OMG! The much-awaited joint birthday party is here!
A day ahead of their birthdays on November 21, Karen Davila dropped a YouTube vlog where she happily reunited with Lyca Gairanod for their double birthday celebration.
The broadcast journalist and the Lyca made their birthday extra special by giving away gifts that could help the livelihood of the residents of Lyca’s hometown in Tanza, Cavite.
“Ang birthday celebration ay kumbaga tayo ang magbibigay kesa tayo ang reregaluhan… I am so blessed, kasi ang birthday natin today is special, it’s not about me and Lyca,” said Karen in the vlog.
“Hindi lang po para samin itong special day namin, para din po ito sa mga tao na nangangailangan,” said Lyca.
Karen and Lyca were able to give out 45 bikes, bike safety gears, smartphones, loading kits, pocket wifis, brand-new shirts and food packs to the beneficiaries.
Netizens have been anticipating the birthday celebration after the two sent the internet abuzz back in August with their meme-worthy reactions when Karen found out that they share the same birthdate.
Karen then promised to throw a party for their special day. Karen is turning 51, while Lyca is turning 17.
“Alam niyo nagpapasalamat ako sa inyong lahat for welcoming our birthday the way you have. Pero guys, I’ll be honest with you ha, medyo nakaka-pressure kasi hindi naman po inisip na magiging viral ang ‘Oh My God’.
“But you know what, I usually celebrate my birthday quietly, pero ito siyempre po it’s special because my ka-birthday ako,” said Karen.
