This security guard earned praises online after showing kindness to a cashless student who missed the chance to claim his money upon arriving to a closed remittance center.

John Boy Zapico Saldivia, who goes by the user account Snhipher Prince on Facebook, shared online the heartwarming interaction he had with a security guard at a branch of Palawan Pawnshop in New Washington, Aklan, who gave him money after he didn’t make it to the remittance center on time.

Speaking to STAR’s Latestchika.com, John revealed that he was supposed to get the money he borrowed from a friend for his allowance at the time, and had to walk about a kilometer from his boarding house to get to the remittance center.

Upon arriving at the remittance center, John was told by the guard that the establishment was already closed and suggested he come back the next day.

After having a short conversation with the security guard, John said the former grew concerned for him and decided to give him cash to use for the night.

John quoted the security guard as saying in his Facebook post.

John stayed for a few minutes when the security guard handed him P100 so he could buy his dinner.

“Iho oh, tanggapin mo to pang hapunan mo mamaya… balik mo na lang sakin yan pag maging successful ka na,” the security guard told John.

According to John, he initially refused the cash being offered by the security guard, revealing that he’s used to sleeping through his hunger whenever he cannot afford to buy food.

John said he felt touched with the security guard’s kind gesture and the concern he showed him that he couldn’t help but share it online.

Yung tipong mata-touch ka talaga,” he said.

John, 25, a graduating Criminology student, is the second eldest among nine siblings, and had to support himself in his studies.
