Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla sent KathNiel fans into a frenzy after this kilig moment at director Cathy Garcia’s wedding.
Cathy has worked with KathNiel in series and films such as She’s Dating The Gangster, Pangako Sa’Yo, and The How’s of Us, among others.
During the wedding reception, Kathryn caught the bouquet while Daniel, her longtime boyfriend, caught the garter.
“Bukas na bukas din (ikakasal),” Daniel quipped after they received teasing following the bouquet toss.
According to tradition, the bachelor and bachelorette who get to catch the bouquet and garter in a wedding are the next in line to marry.
Janus Del Prado, one of the celebrities who attended Cathy’s star-studded wedding with cinematographer Louie Sampana, shared a video of Daniel putting the garter on Kathryn’s leg.
“Ayan na! Kayo na next, tol!,” Janus wrote as caption.
Janus and Joross Gamboa can be heard teasing Daniel to move the garter up on Kathryn’s leg but the actor settled it just below his girlfriend’s knee.
“Masyado nang mataas, pare. Ang daming tao dito, conservative ako,” Daniel said in jest, even wiping off the sand from Kathryn’s feet.
In an interview with the press last October, Kathryn’s mom Min Bernardo said she personally wants to see the couple settling down in the next few years.
“Ayaw pa nila. Basta sabi ko dapat ilang years na lang. Mahirap kasi ang girl magbuntis pag matanda na,” said Mommy Min.
Karla Estrada, meanwhile, recently revealed she’s ready to become a grandmom to her son Daniel and Kathryn’s kids “anytime”.
