Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, also known as KathNiel, were awarded by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) as top celebrity taxpayers in the country for the year 2022.
The real and reel life couple received the recognition during the Tax Campaign Kick-off at the Fisher Mall in Quezon City on Wednesday.
“Malaking bagay ‘to sa’min and hopefully, this will inspire everybody to do our responsibility bilang Pilipino na nagbabayad ng tax,” Kathryn said during their acceptance speech.
Daniel, on the other hand said, “Maraming-maraming salamat sa award na ito!,” adding in jest, “Maraming-maraming salamat…dami naming binayaran na tax”.
Other top tax-paying TV and Movie personalities recognized by the bureau are Coco Martin, Liza Soberano, Sarah Geronimo, Judy Ann Santos, Maja Salvador, Michael V, Vic Sotto, Anne Curtis, Willie Revillame, Jessica Soho , Mel Tiangco, and Mike Enriquez.

Willie Revillame, meanwhile, remarked: “Dapat walang tigil ang pagbayad natin ng tamang buwis… gagawin ko ‘yung obligasyon ko bilang isang Pilipinong mamamayan at magbabayad ako ng tamang tax para sa ating bayan.”
