Moira dela Torre made this overseas Pinoy fan happy after she granted his request to buy him the popular dried fish danggit.
Following her sold-out concert at the Araneta Coliseum, Moira headed to Qatar to kick off her 2023 world tour.
During the show at the Asian Town Ampitheater on Friday, Moira allotted time to personally give the danggit the OFW fan had requested.
The fan, 38-year-old Christian Baysa, previously went viral after he made the “pasabuy” request in a comment on the concert posters posted on Moira’s Facebook page.
“Manonood po ako ng concert mo sa Qatar. Pwede pasabay po ng danggit? Bayaran ko dito,” read the fan’s comment which brought laughter to netizens.
Moira, meanwhile, simply replied, “Hanep.”
After the meet-up, Christian, who goes by the name “Boy Ulam Lutong Bahay” on Facebook, shared a video of him frying and ready to eat the danggit.
He also earlier shared a video of him thanking Moira the moment he received the box of danggit.
In an interview with LatestChika.com, Christian revealed that he was not expecting Moira to grant his favor as he only made a joke out of his craving for danggit on social media.
“Super miss ko na kasi danggit. Halos wala kang makita dito sa market ng Qatar. Either ubos or yung super baho version ng ibang bansa. Iba talaga quality at lasa ng galing sa Pinas,” shared Christian.
So when Moira called him on stage to get his danggit, Christian said he was “super overwhelmed”.
“Di ko nga po expect kasi di ko talaga alam na seseryosohin niya talaga..Akala ko eme lang,” he said.
“Nagulat ako. ‘Di ko alam if sisigaw, tatakbo, tatalon ako. Sobrang hiya ko that time pero syempre iba talaga eh. Mixed emotions.
“Mas nanaig padin ‘yung excitement at having that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity eh talagang sobrang kaba at saya,” he added.
Christian also got the chance to talk and take a photo with Moira after being invited by his food blogger friend Papsi TV for dinner with the singer-songwriter the next day.
He was also able to give Moira some items like lotion and perfume “as a gift in return” for fulfilling his request.
“Super saya and big respect po sa Moira and team! Ambabait nila at super humble pa. Wala silang keme sa katawan. They let us feel comfortable around them, (like friends do),” Christian shared about his encounter with his idol.
Christian, who’s been a freelance chef in Qatar for 10 years now, said that he doesn’t really know much about vlogging and only uses his Facebook page as “storage” for his cooking videos.
“At tsaka para naman maalala ng pamilya at magiging apo-apohan ko mga niluluto ko sa kanila. Nag-eenjoy din ako sa paggawa ng videos pag free time. Pero wala talaga akong talent magedit at gumawa ng content talaga.
“Kumbaga upload lang ako ng trip ko iedit then come what may nalang,” he said.
Moira, meanwhile, humorously reacted to a video that showed her giving Christian the danggit at her concert.
“Sana masaya po kayo sa danggit kyah. Last mo na yan kyah.”
