Married couple Vicky Rushton and Jason Abalos are officially reservists of the Philippine Navy.
The beauty queen took to Instagram to share photos of herself undergoing the basic citizen’s military training as well as snaps of her and the actor’s graduation ceremony.
“This is waaay out of my comfort zone,” Vickie said while sharing how she contemplated what she should do next following her retirement from the pageant scene in 2021.
“This is by far the highest and most meaningful achievement I received in my life. Honestly, I just wanted to work with different organizations where I can help and serve but who would have thought that I will be a full-fledged Philippine Navy Reservist?” she further wrote.
As she expressed gratitude to her mentors and batchmates for the experiences and memories during their training, Vickie also thanked her husband for letting her join the reserve force.
“It’s nice to share this journey with you ? kahit magkaiba tayo ng class, happy ako na sabay tayo nag graduate. Thank you for supporting me and for encouraging me. Nakaya ko ang lahat ng to dahil sa tiwala mo na kaya ko din gawin to. I love you, Baba,” Vickie told Jason.
The couple tied the knot at a church wedding ceremony last September after 10 years of being together.
Winwyn Marquez, Enzo Pineda and Rocco Nacino are among celebrities known to be part of the naval reserve force.
