Markus Paterson has made clarifications over issues surrounding his breakup with former partner Janella Salvador.
The Kapamilya actor in an Instagram story revealed that he and Janella have been separated for almost a year already.
“Just to clear up the facts, me and Janella have been broken up for almost a year. She’s happy in life, and I’m happy in life and our only priority is Jude,” said Markus, referring to the son he shares with the actress.
Markus also dismissed speculations that he was alluding to Janella when he made a statement about the lessons he learned from his past relationship.
“What I said in the podcast wasn’t actually about her, but I understand that it was open to misinterpretation because of the way I phrased it and since we never actually announced our break up,” explained Markus.
The 24-year-old earlier remarked in a drinking game vlog that he learned to “never f*cking date someone in the industry”.
Markus has since earned the ire of some netizens online. Amid the controversies, the actor also claimed that he “never hit a woman in my life”.
Janella first confirmed her split from Markus after revealing in an interview with Bernadette Sembrano that she’s now a single mom.
The two, who made their relationship public in 2020, welcomed their son Jude in October of the same year.
