Binibining Pilipinas first runner-up Herlene Budol wowed netizens with her transformation as “Darna” for her 23rd birthday.
The beauty queen made one of long-time dreams come true as she dressed up as the iconic Filipino heroine on her special day last August 23.
On her Instagram account, Herlene shared a photo of her donning the red-and-gold bikini, complete with headgear, boots and wrist cuffs, inspired by fellow actress Marian Rivera’s version of the Darna costume.
“Ding ang korona! Suot ko ang costume ni Darna hango sa idolo kong si Marian Rivera ng @gmanetwork na naging Darna noon,” Herlene wrote as caption.
“Natupad na din ang pangarap kong magsuot ng Darna costume sa aking kaarawan,” she added as she thanked those who came to celebrate her birthday with her.
Herlene also released a vlog showing a four-minute skit of her transformation as Darna, and a ”fight scene” with her very own Valentina.
The vlog also included a video of her performing her single “Gandang Hipon” in her Darna look.
