GMA Network has released a statement addressing the controversy surrounding the marital status of its talents Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez.
“We are saddened by the recent turn of events involving GMA artists Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez, ” said GMA in a statement released on Friday, June 17.
The Kapuso network hopes that the estranged couple “will be able to resolve their issues at the soonest possible time and in the most amicable manner”.
The network also urged the public to “refrain from spreading various speculations about them”.
The statement came a day after Carla dropped the bomb on her failed relationship with Tom.
Responding to a netizen’s comment in one of her Youtube videos, Carla spoke about getting”disrespected, betrayed, lied to, used, shamed, and made to look so stupid” by the actor.
“Sa lala po ng sakit, pambabastos, panloloko, pandudurog, paninira, panggagamit at pagtataksil po niya, mga tinago niya, napakadali pong ibalik sa kanya sa paraan ng pagganti. Pero hindi po ako ganun. Hindi po ako bobo. Hindi po ako lalaban kahit tapak-tapakan na po ako ng husto,” ead a part of Carla’s lengthy comment.
Tom, on the other hand, claimed in a previous comment to a netizen urging him to tell the truth, that he was given a gag order.
Rumors about the couple’s separation began three months after marriage in October 2021. The two are also reported to be heading for annulment.
