Zeus Collins stole the spotlight when he proposed to non-showbiz girlfriend Myka Pauline Redondo at the Star Magic All Star Games basketball match last Sunday, May 22.
The former Hashtags member popped the question when he pretended to be injured during the fourth quarter of Team It’s Showtime and Team Star Magic basketball game.
When Pauline came to check on his beau, Zeus got up with a microphone in hand and started his proposal speech, to the surprise of his sweetheart and kilig reaction of the crowd.
“Sinabi ko sa sarili ko na ikaw na ‘yung gusto kng makasama habambuhay. Nagpapasalamat ako kay Lord dahil ikaw ‘yung ibinigay niya sa akin,” Zeus told his girlfriend of three years.
“At Hindi ko na sasayangin itong pagkakataon na ito ngayon. Sa harap ng mga kaibigan ko, at ng mga madlang people, ngayon ko lang ito gagawin at sana last na ito,” said Zeus before kneeling on one knee and asked, “Myka Pauline Redondo, will you marry me?”.
Myka said “yes” afterwards, making them both emotional.
Zeu also took to Instagram to share how he felt before he asked to marry Pauline.
“Hindi ako nakapag laro ng maayos sa basketball kasi sobrang kinakabahan ako para dito, yung tipong dipa nag start ang game putlang putla na ako ?,” wrote Zeus.
He continued “Pero ito at nangyari na nga ang pinapangarap at pinag dadasal ko na mahanap na ang makakasama ko habang buhay.”
Zeus also thanked his It’s Showtime family for helping him pull off the surprise marriage proposal.
“Thank you @praybeytbenjamin at Team Showtime sa malupit na plano kahit masakit talaga ang bagsak ko ? At Ronnie pumayag na gawin kahit 2 fouls ang kailangan. Thank you din kuya @rycrafael !”.
Zeus first met Pauline, a flight attendant, in late 2019, describing her as a simple and sweet person.
