Jake Zyrus is mourning the death of his grandmother and uncle who recently passed away just three days apart.
Jake’s mother Raquel Pempengco revealed in a Pep interview that her mother Tess Pineda Relucio died on April 3, while her brother Robert Pineda Relucio died on April 6 due to a motorcycle accident.
Raquel sought the help of his son Jake, formerly known as Charice Pempengco, for funeral expenses. “Wala pang paramdam si Charice hanggang ngayon. Need ko talaga ngayon ang tulong.
“Namatay naman ang kapatid ko na nagbabantay sa nanay ko. Kaninang umaga lang siya namatay,” Raquel was quoted as saying in the report published on April 6.
Meanwhile, Jake’s talent manager Carl Cabral issued a statement to ABS-CBN News on Friday about the singer’s mourning.
Cabral’s full statement read:
“We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Lola Thess and Tito Obet. I am constantly communicating with one of the family members.
“This is a heartbreaking time for the family and those who love them dearly. Let us help the bereaved to mourn privately.
“We greatly appreciate your sincere sympathy during this time of grief and loss.”
