Luis Manzano said he was caught off guard upon learning his dad Edu Manzano’s romantic relationship with Cherry Pie Picache.
In a recent interview with G3 San Diego, Luis along with his wife Jessy Mendiola shared their reaction to Edu’s newfound love.
“We were really shocked,” said Jessy.
“Sobrang we were caught off guard. Ang galing lang,” continued Luis as he remembered working with Cherry Pie in Kampanerang Kuba before.
“Talagang no one saw it coming. I don’t even think dad and Tita Pie saw it coming,” he admitted.
“Feeling ko nga eh kung nagkataon lang na, let’s say by next year, kunwari lang, we’re hoping and praying na maibalik and prangkisa ng ABS (CBN), feeling ko baka si daddy tsaka si Tita Pie baka itapat sa KathNiel,” Luis added in jest.
The TV-host actor also recalled how he found out about his dad’s relationship with Cherry Pie.
“I think a friend of mine took a picture with them and he sent me a picture. He was with Daddy and Tita Pie. Date night yata sila. So, I sent the picture back to Daddy. I said, ‘Uy daddy, happy boy ka.’ Sabi niya, ‘Yes anak, happy,’” said Luis.
Luis is Edu’s son with former wife Vilma Santos. The two married in 1980 but went their separate ways after two years.
Weeks after confirming their relationship to the public, Edu and Cherry Pie have been openly sharing cozy photos of them together on Instagram.
