Fans were touched after Claudine Barretto shared this years-old love letter she received from late ex-boyfriend Rico Yan.
Claudine dedicated the handwritten note dated September 7, 1998, where the late actor expressed his joy that they were finally a couple, to their fans.
“Double infinity ? RYCB & CLAUDINIANS THIS IS FOR ALL OF U??❤️,” wrote Claudine in the caption.
Rico’s letter read:
“Hunny, just wanted to let you know that you are the best thing that happened in my life. You are my life! While I watch you sleep, I can’t believe you’re mine. Thank you for being my rock! And Hunny, ‘you rock’. I love you very much, Hunny.
Claudine and Rico started out as a love team but became a couple in 1998. The two eventually broke up in March 2002.
Several weeks after their split, Rico died during a vacation in Palawan due to acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis.
In a vlog with her bestfriend Janelle Jamer last February, Claudine spoke about her everlasting love for Rico.
“Mahal ko pa rin siya. Hindi mawawala ‘yon. I think hindi nawawala ‘yung (love) kapag namatay na ‘yung tao. Kahit hindi na kami, nandoon pa rin. Lalo pa yatang lumabas kung ano ang nararamdaman mo towards the person kapag nawala na ‘yung tao,” said Claudine.
Claudine also marked what could’ve been Rico’s 46th birthday last March with a simple celebration at home.
