James Yap shared his delight over ex-wife Kris Aquino’s engagement to former Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Sec. Mel Sarmiento.
The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) star relayed his reaction to the news of Kris’ engagement in a short response to Pep.

James and Kris tied the knot in 2005 but went their separate ways in 2010. The ex-couple are parents to 14-year-old son Bimby. Their marriage was declared null and void in 2012.
Over the weekend, Kris surprised netizens with an Instagram post expressing how she can’t wait to be Mrs. Sarmiento.
The TV host actress also described the ex-DILG official as her “best friend and the man I said yes to spending the rest of my life with”.
Kris said she owes it her late brother and former president Noynoy Aquino for being their matchmaker.
The engaged couple recently opened up more about their relationship in an interview hosted by Bimby.
