Kim Chiu clarified her remark about cheating which recently drew flak online.
Earlier this week, the actress-host trended on social media after reacting to a contestant who opened up about her husband’s infidelity during It’s Showtime’s Reina ng Tahanan segment on Monday.
“Baka magchi-cheat kung hindi siya naging masaya. Baka bubukas ‘yung mundo ng cheating kung hindi siya masaya sa partner niya,” said Kim when It’s Showtime co-hosts shared their thoughts on the topic.
Vice Ganda, meanwhile, was quick to respond: “Again, Kim Chiu, there is no acceptable reason for cheating. Masaya ka o hindi ka masaya, walang pass ‘yun to cheat. Hindi ka maaabsuwelto doon. Walang ganoon Kim.”
Clips of Kim Chiu’s remarks went viral on social media and earned the ire of some netizens who alleged that she tolerates cheating.
Kim was able to elaborate on her remarks in the episode of It’s Showtime on Wednesday, stressing that she will never be in favor of cheating considering that she was once a victim of it.
“Gusto ko lang sabihin sa lahat at linawin na ndi po ako pabor sa cheating. And never po talaga ako magiging pabor doon dahil naging biktima din naman ako noon, and it was not easy, it was very painful,” she said.
“Kasi nagmukhang ako ‘yung cheater. Siyempre walang may gusto masaktan, o walang may gustong niloko ka,” she furthered.
Kim did not mention who had cheated on her. She is currently in a relationship with Xian Lim.
