A newborn baby boy, who was found inside a backpack left hanging at a house gate in Norala, South Cotabato, broke netizens’ hearts.
Uploader Mary Kris Aquino-Dela Cruz, 33, shared a set of photos showing a blue bag where the presumably days-old baby was abandoned and discovered around 5 a.m. Tuesday in Purok Aquino, Barangay San Miguel.
According to Mary, a worker of her uncle Salvador Aquino was on his way to the farm when he heard the sound of a baby crying.
“Narinig niya ang iyak ng isang batang sanggol sa bag. And then, dali-dali niya akong pinuntahan dito sa bahay para ipaalam na may nakita siya na isang bag na color blue nakasabit sa bandang gate ng bahay ng isa kong uncle,” Mary told Latestchika.com.
Mary, along with her aunt and the wife of the worker, rushed to the location, afraid that the baby would die of suffocation.
“Habang papalapit po kami dinig ko na ang iyak ng baby. Pag-open namin na bata talaga ang laman ng bag napaiyak ako na napatindig balahibo,” said Mary, expressing disbelief that she would witness a teleserye-like scene in real life.
“Kasi usually sa mga movies or teleserye mo lang makikita, then in actual naranasan kong mag-open ng bag na bata ang laman na isinabit lang 
She then informed their barangay captain of the situation and brought the baby to a hospital for medical checkup.
As of writing, the baby boy is now under the custody of Department of Social Welfare and Development Region 12.
Netizens in the comments section, meanwhile, felt sympathy for the baby.
